October 24, 2016
By Samantha Olson

Twelve Angry JurorsThe West Sound Academy Theatre Company of Poulsbo, Washington, will present the legal rollercoaster 12 Angry Jurors based on the Emmy award-winning television movie by Reginald Rose and adapted by Sherman L. Sergel.  The performances will be November 11th and 12th at the Olympic College Campus Theatre, Bremerton, Washington.  Curtain time is 7:00 p.m.

Set in the 1950s, 12 Angry Jurors is the story of a jury that must decide the fate of a young man accused of killing his father. When the Foreman of the jury calls for a vote of innocent or guilty all but one agree the boy is guilty. Juror 8 proposes that it is possible the young man is innocent. The twelve jurors, stuck in an over-heated room, argue and banter with the moral dilemma that each juror faces which is unique to their life experience.  The play calls into question the values of each very unique juror and provides a sometimes comedic and diverse take on the dilemma of guilty or not guilty.

The acting ensemble includes newcomers Joe Zhou, Grace Schmitt, Phillip Cox, Ben Browning and Delaney Agodon.  Returning members of the West Sound Academy Theatre company include Trinity Pine, Ben Silvernale, Annika Nelson, Jailee Bishop, Audrey Jordan, Ryley Mercado, Wyatt Weber, and Karsten Hald.

This production of 12 Angry Jurors is directed by Gretchen Nordleaf-Nelson. The technical director is Jackson Vogt, set and props are designed by Ruby Gsellman, costumes are designed by Ellie Swanson and Alena Pulhug is stage manager.

Tickets are $10 General Admission, $7 for students who show student ID and $5 for Senior Citizens.
