WSA's Mudpie Ranked 'Excellent' in NCTE's 2011 Student Literary Magazine Program

West Sound Academy's 2011 edition of Mudpie was recognized by with a rank of Excellent in this year's National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines.   The NCTE sponsors this annual evaluation and ranking of literary magazines from middle schools, junior high schools, and high schools in North America, the Virgin Islands, and American schools abroad.  Through this program, the NCTE aims "to encourage all schools to devlop literary magazines, seeking excellence in writing and school-wide participation in production."

The student editors of the 2011 Mudpie recognized by the NCTE are: Emma Christen, Helena Peterson, Espen Swanson, Gabriella Vogt, Sara Beckstrom, and Connor Fazzini.  The proud and happy faculty advisor is WSA English and Poetry teacher, Eleanor Johnson.  Congratulations to the 2011 Mudpie staff for this achievement, and good luck to this year's Mudpie staff, and 2012 Student Editor Gabriella Vogt!
