Bill Baran-Mickle

Bill works in a fairly unusual medium: sculptural metal smithing. Once a jeweler and silversmith, he has used traditional metal smithing techniques to create sculpture in an intimate scale since the 80s. Baran-Mickle has participated in roughly 100 exhibitions nationally over the past 30 years, earning several artist fellowships along the way. Key themes in his work have been social and political observations, trying to provoke the viewer to participate by bringing their own experiences to mix with the artwork.
