Students meet in the fall with their parents and teacher team to present their goals for the year. These conferences are not only used to help the student assess his or her progress, but also are used as a teaching mechanism. Through these thirty minute conversations, students better come to know themselves, recognize their strengths and realize there is a whole team of people there to help them remedy their challenges.
In the spring, students and parents meet with the student's advocate to check in on progress toward goals. If necessary, the advocate also discusses tasks/homework still unfinished and guides the student toward successful completion of the year.
